As we head into the new season, we remain focused on ensuring our neighbourhood is safe, clean, and vibrant for everyone.We are excited to introduce our newly rebranded "Urban Rangers" under the leadership of our new team lead Howard Gwamanda, alongside our ongoing commitment to community upliftment through the Work Readiness Programme. This edition also serves updates on service delivery partnerships with the City of Cape Town, and maintenance efforts across our public spaces. While this overall decrease is positive, road safety is becoming a growing concern. They advise that any property owner who experiences a theft should immediately open a case with SAPS. This is the most effective way in assisting us address outstanding service delivery concerns in the neighbourhood. ### **![public safety](https://www.lowergardenscid.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/Icons/public%20safety.png?width=50&height=50&name=public%20safety.png)  Law Enforcement and Public Safety Update**  Compared to September last year—which saw 15 reported incidents and 9 arrests—we experienced a notable decrease this month, with 8 incidents and 1 arrest recorded. Of the 8 reported incidents, a single suspect was responsible for 2 of them. The driver was arrested and taken to SAPS for common assault.* ### Notable Incidents Robbers Foiled By Shea Manuel.  On Monday afternoon at approximately 15:30 a pedestrian was robbed off his belongings at Mill Street corner Hopeville by 2 suspects. The suspects were spotted by LGCID security manager Shea Manuel on Christian Barnard Street who then proceeded to contact Law Enforcement. Howard was responsible for running Streetscapes inner-city toilet cleaning programme and brings experience in general urban maintenance. We wish him all the best in his new role.*   They will be responsible for maintaining our neighbourhood, including weed removal, grass cutting, and clearing pavement drains. Over the next few editions, through a series of additional blog posts, we will be highlighting individual team members sharing their story and what they hope to achieve. Meet Margaret Friendriecha Losper. Determination and growth define Margaret’s journey with the Streetscapes work readiness team in Lower Gardens. Since joining the programme, she has secured her own home, reconnected with her children, and developed vital workplace skills with support from the LGCID. Our team remains focused on routine tasks such as weed removal and grass cutting.
